Orkney and the north of Scotland around Caithness and Sutherland had an unusual visitor from the arctic with the walrus dubbed "wally" in 2018. This was the first sighting of a walrus in UK waters for around 5 years and thousands of people went to the harbour and beach locations where this now famous walrus used to sleep and sunbath. Reported in local and national newspapers he eventually left and travelled north, hopefully getting back to his home in the arctic.

"Wally" seemed to like the attention from the hundreds of people who came to see him and take pictures.
Peedie Sands are worth the effort to get down to the beach, best when the tide is out.
I have always been a bit sad that I photographed this wonderful animal beside a discarded plastic bottle.
