Dunnet Beach is a beautiful sandy beach that streches from Castletown to the village of Dunnet. Dogs are welcome on the beach and even in the height of summer you will often find this beach fairly empty except for a few local people walking dogs and families on holiday at the caravan and campsite near the beach. One of Scotland's best beaches with lovely views over to Dwarwick Pier and Dunnet Head. Mary-Ann's cottage is also nearby as well as Dunnet Bay Distillers.
The historic tidal harbour at Castletown is well worth visiting to see the local stone used in its construction, and to visit the Castlehill Heritage Centre to learn more about the use of local stone and the history of Castletown. Located next to the beach is the popular Dunnet Bay Caravan Club Campsite. Hotels are nearby for meals and holiday accommodation.
